Why You Shouldn’t Use Bloglovin’s Follow by Email Widget

Not long ago, Bloglovin’ updated their logo and buttons (it’s about time). They also added a shiny new follow by email widget. What? A FREE FOLLOW BY EMAIL OPTION!?! *grabby hands* NEVER never never never never EVER switch to a follow by email option before TESTING IT YOURSELF! ASSUME NOTHING! Now, Bloglovin’s Follow by Email option had me very curious. Why would they offer this service and how did it work…I set out on a mission to find out and here are my findings. The Experiment First, I created a brand new gmail account and added Bloglovin’s widget to my sidebar. I entered my new email, followed and then confirmed…

This week’s topic is top fairytale retellings I want to read. I’m not limiting myself to 10 today because I have a lot of fairytale retellings on my tbr shelf that I’m really excited to read! Why Are Authors Leaving Twitter? Is It Really Their Only Option?

If you’ve been on Twitter the last few weeks, you’ve probably noticed a lot of discussion around how we (readers) should interact with authors. If you missed that, it goes something like, don’t do that, don’t say this, do this, do that, blah blah blah. At the end of the day, good advice, but how effective is it really? First, let’s think about how much control we have over other people on Twitter. Answer? Zero control. We can give all the good advice in the world, BUT we have to face the reality that there will ALWAYS be people on Twitter who say mean/hurtful things to other people. So what…

The Greatest Fear – When You Pick the Wrong Ship

You probably saw this title and thought, what on earth could this be about? the wrong ship? What kind of books are you reading Steph? Romance my friends. Romance. Today we’re going to discuss shipping couples and picking the wrong ship! If you haven’t heard that term before, here’s Wikipedia’s definition: Shipping, derived from the word relationship, is the belief that two people would be interesting or believable in a romantic relationship. It is considered a general term for fans’ emotional involvement with the ongoing development of romance in a work of fiction. -Wikipedia Now some people like love triangles and some people loath them. I personally dislike them. Why? Imagine this…

Review: The Heart of Betrayal

Book Overview Favorites! (except for Kaden) Well developed Interesting and mysterious Good pacing I really like it   Romance Overview (Lia and Rafe) Relationship continues to grow in love :) Not too many, but still good They argue more in the beginning YESSSSSSSS (down with Kaden!) I SHIP THEM!   What I Loved This series combines some of my favorite things: romance, some mystery, fantasy, and that old world feel. Rafe and Lia are so good together!! Lia and Rafe definitely don’t have it easy in the kingdom of Venda. They can’t show any feeling for each other because Venda’s leader, the Komizar, is looking for any weakness in Lia…

It’s time for our weekly recap! Every Saturday or Sunday I’ll recap what has been happening in our lives, on our blog, and what you can look forward to for this coming week on our blog…most likely =) In Our Lives What did I do this week?…that’s the question I keep asking myself as I stare at this screen. Work has been pretty busy. I’ve finally moved away from doing support work for a system that sucks. I’d say a majority of the time I was working this week was spent coding! I’m working on a new MVC project and it’s coming along nicely. One thing I really like about…
